Since 2003 Andrew has been directly involved in
providing physiotherapy support to the
BEF World Class programmes
in
Eventing, Dressage, Para Dressage
and
Show Jumping.
He has developed, working closely with coaches and instructors, the eventphysio rider analysis system to identify imbalances, weaknesses and physical issues which can lead to particular riding problems.
This assessment aims are to identify your riding weaknesses and imbalances. For example do you:
• Collapse on one side?
• Feel better on one rein compared to the other?
• Fix with one arm?
• Prefer to turn to one side?
• Have too much weight on one part of the saddle?
• Always run out to the same side?
• Fall behind the movement?
• Have constant back pain?
Find out why and how to correct it! This assessment takes approximately 2 hours and consists of a physical examination and testing in the eventphysio mobile unit, and then a video analysis on your horse. The two are linked together and you will then be provided with exercises and advice on how to correct your weaknesses and imbalances.
This normally costs £125, but is free to riders on the BEF World Class programmes, being funded by EIS.
All the British Eventing squad have this assessment on a yearly basis.
The mobile unit allows riders to be treated and assessed in their own yards and at events.
